A quick retell–John Kerry bumble-f***s his way into a diplomatic solution. War is averted. Who is pissed off? Fox News and other culture warriors. Too funny. I see nothing embarrassing about it at all. I would much rather get along with Russia than the alternative.

Speaking of bumble-f***king…what a totally great word. I wish I had thought of that! Blue bombs is pretty funny also.

I missed Jon Stewart so much this past summer. I am sure John Oliver did a great job. I just wasn’t interested.

    He does have a point – if done properly this could work without the issues surrounding a military response (cost, what is next, scope creep, etc). Who cares whose idea it is? Is this the not invented here syndrome? And if Obama had rejected this no military option the same pundits would be saying “see he is a war monger” who did not want to seek a diplomatic solution. We know there number and we know there game.

    Obama got Assad to admit having chemical weapons and sign he chemical, weapons treaty. Yep that is a major foreign policy victory.

    Meanwhile Vladimir Putin is the hero of conservatives. Conservatives hate Obama so much that they embrace our nation’s enemies.

    1. That is how I see it also, Starry.

    Lol, spit out my coffee when I read this 😉

    1. I hope you cleaned up your mess!

      It sure does sound like Starry is on to something. Have you heard the conservative talk shows?

      I would suggest that the conservatives listen to how some of what they are saying is coming across.

    Yeah, MAJOR foreign policy victory for the President… too funny.

    1. Not having to enforce with force should be considered major by all of us.

      If you wanted to go to war, I guess you are just going to have to wait.

    @Moon-howler
    I cleaned up as best I could, however, any advise on getting coffee stains out?

    Iraq – we think Saddam has WMD – we go to war, we spend trillions, troops on ground for over a decade. What do we get?
    Assad – we know he has WMD. We have the framework to prevent a us shot fired. Obama gets mashed in the conservative media. Giving over his chemical weapons, signing chemical weapons ban, etc – success.

    I do not care how we get to a non military intervention (remains to be seen if effective). Does it matter whose diplomatic idea it was? Do any of us have any insight into the behind the scenes negotiations?
