James Carville, the “ragin’ cajun” Democratic strategist, has signed on with Fox News, the network announced Thursday.
“James’ successful and storied career in politics over several decades is an enormous asset to Fox News,” Bill Shine, Fox News’s executive vice president of programming, said in a statement. “We are privileged to have him lend his breadth of experience, wit and dynamic perspective on the network.”
Why? Does he need money? Attention? I considered it disloyal until a friend suggested that perhaps Carville was the only one strong enough to stand up to the barrage of crap that will be dished out my Fox News. That is something to consider, for sure.
How long do you think he will last? Carville does not suffer fools.
I don’t think there’s any good side to this. Carville’s just another yammering jerk who cares about politics, not real things. In that way he’ll fit right in.
They’ll all have fun yelling at each other over there until possibly someone’s head explodes. I won’t be watching.
Heck, the guy has been married to Matalin for years.
He should be able to stand ANYthing after that.
They live in a super-fancy house in New Orleans. Matalin
sailed through it like a queen when the couple were inteviewd
on 60 Minutes a while back. Probably need money!
Excellent points made, Punchak!
“the couple WAS..”
These two are great evidence that politics is a charade and the people who take it seriously are suckers.
He’s still around?
This is a real coup for Fox. They can pay lip service to being “balanced”, but their house Democrat is one of the most bizarre people in North America.
@Scout
He and his wife are equally bizarre. Nothing attractive about them,
yet they show up among the talking heads regularly. Not THAT’S
really bizarre.
They are set for life.
Feel for their two daughters, though.
Have never paid much attention to either one so no big deal for me. Saw the same 60 Minutes Punchak referred to–nice house owned by ridiculous people. One thing about Carville–he probably doesn’t have to buy a Halloween mask.
Rick, I find your quote more true every year.
He and his wife are certainly bizarre, but they are also both brilliant strategists. And I think having him on is a brilliant strategy for Fox, as it may get a bunch of lefties to watch to see the fireworks. As if Fox needed the ratings!
The word “brilliant” is totally overused. Has lost its true meaning, IMO.
What’s brilliant about these two bizarre (a word agreed upon) people?
Unless one believes that being bizarre is equal to being brilliant, of course.
Ok, Punchak, substitute “successful” or “knowledgeable” or “proven” or even “political” for “brilliant” in my post above if you prefer. The point is that they have both advised or engineered successful political campaigns and are well-versed in political science.
Personally, I like brilliant- someone who helps get an unknown ex- Arkansas governor elected president of the United States twice deserves the designation, in my opinion.
