The blogs have been on fire lately with accusations about this person and that.  Most of it, if not all of it, is Republican.  They seem to be devouring each other.  Everyone seems to be accusing the other of being in someone’s pocket.

Let’s just air our dirty linen  in public at this time.  First off, Elena and I neither one belong to a political party.  We usually lean Democratic but we aren’t party members.  I used to be about 15 years ago.  I sat on the Democratic Committee for the Gainesville Magisterial District for a couple years.  I have even voted Republican in local elections a time or two.

We do not take any money for anything related to moonhowlings.net.  NO tip jar, no nothing.  We have never been paid a dime for this blog nor do we want anyone’s money.  We pay for our webhosting  and our domain name.  That’s it.  The money comes out of our pockets. (but you all knew that anyway, didn’t you?)

I guess we will be left out of the mudslinging.  I can’t even follow it since I am not involved with the internal workings of the Republian Party in Virginia.  However, some of what has been written has been very familiar.  In fact, so familiar it seemed like a flashback.  It makes for fun reading, even if I don’t understand all the party-talk.

9 Thoughts to “Disclosures and disclaimers”

  1. Scout

Isn’t it nearly thigh-slapping hilarious, though, to see Greg belching out salvoes of righteous indignation at bloggers that he alleges have undisclosed financial interests in candidates whom they also support in their blogs?

  2. It was suggested a while ago that we accept advertisers. We said no. We don’t want to be beholden to anyone or in any way have to curtail our thoughts.

Rightly or wrongly, we are our own folks. There is no one to call Big Brother rights.

  3. Yes, I felt his pain, Clinton-style, and rather enjoyed it. The king of unholy alliances doth protest too much.

I also enjoyed seeing the flashbacks of the Coverstone 7-11. Sometimes when you don’t watch where you walk and step in something, it is real hard to get it off your shoes, isn’t it?

Some things just don’t wash off, like the term ‘nativist.’ Did the ADL also give him that distinction?

  4. While we are on the subject of disclaimers…I read where I had special software that leeched out IP address and email addresses for some ill-begotten purpose.

Yes, I do have special software. Its called WordPress. Anyone who uses web hosting (bvbl does also) can see IP addresses. It is fairly meaningless. It also requires an email address to post. Yawn. Anyone who posts here knows you have to provide an email address. Most savvy bloggers also know that it doesn’t have to be YOUR email address.

NO story here. No shock here. If you use BlogSpot, you don’t get in to all that. If you use Word press or other software that needs web hosting, then you will get to see someone’s IP. That’s how you ban someone from your blog. That’s how *I* have been banned from certain blogs. (ahem…cough*choke*sputter…take a guess whose blog)

Nice scare tactics, SoN. I actually think the sheep believed you. Oh well…no skin off my nose.

Oh and to the person who was going to sue me for publishing his IP address after warning him I would do it if he continued making threating, vulgar remarks…make my day. Have at it.

Then you will get on no one’s blog. Now that would make a good story.

  5. Ivan

“My blog is better than your blog.” “My candidate is purer than your candidate.”
Looks like the old “purity vs. “electability” issue rearing its ugly head again.
Perhaps what we have here is the “last stand” for the Tea Party in No. Va.

I doubt that any blog swings very many voters from one candidate to another or one paety to another. This nis a sad attempt to regain “rock star” status ofyears gone by.

    1. Not even Ted Nugent status. sigh.

  6. Starryflights

There can’t be anything more boring than bloggers blogging about bloggers.

    1. Actually, Starry, this one made me smile. Much of it is boring to me because it is Republican in-fighting which bores me. But some of it did make me smile. Karma’s a bitch.

  7. THAT, was funny Starry!
