Gun insurance? What a clever idea. Good money maker for the Cooch also. Maybe all gun owners in Virginia should have gun insurance. It should pay for trials and have a little liability in there for the victims so they can heal or get buried.

Is this insurance part of home-owners?  What do renters do?

What does the State Corporation Commission have to say about all this?
People’s ingenuity never ceases to amaze me.

It is not insurance, it is pre-paid legal services. Is this for real?? Really, from AG to Gov Candidate to ….pre-paid gun legal fly by night used car dealer – really.

And an NRA member get a better price than a law enforcement officer – http://www.vaselfdefenselaw.com/pricing/

    1. I hope it was obvious that I was being sarcastic.

I think every gun should have insurance before it can be sold. Then no matter who uses it to kill or injure someone the insurance company is available to pay for the funeral or the hospital bills. The insurance goes with the gun so victims remain covered if the gun is stolen or a straw purchase.

At each sale the insurance would be prepaid for 1 year. The following year the insurance would be billed to the current owner on record and if not paid the gun would be repo’d and sold to someone who could keep up the insurance payments. If the owner doesn’t report the new owner or return the gun the police would get involved….just like foreclosure.

Paying insurance is the measure that someone is responsible enough to own a gun. Possession of a gun with a lapsed insurance policy should be a felony which would prohibit future gun ownership. Felony charge would be the big stick to encourage responsible gun ownership. We’d also have fewer operational guns as collectors would render their guns inoperable to eliminate the insurance requirement. Fewer working guns means fewer opportunities for accidents, suicides and homicides by gun.

I’m pretty sure this isn’t what Cooch is selling.

    @Moon-howler
I was looking for the ‘May First Fools day’ hook, until I realized that was last month. I still cannot believe that this is what he hooked his wagon to. And he had such potential.

    1. It could have been worse. He could have stayed with tobacco is our friend Jonnie Williams and that company.

I’m pretty sure this isn’t what Cooch is selling.

    Thank God.

    1. What do you think Cooch is selling?

  5. Lyssa

This is just a retainer. They promise to find you a good lawyer. Probably be better off with a public defender.

    Snake oil salesmen.

  6. @Moon-howler
    Pre-paid lawyer services.

You can also find it through the NRA.

    Not insurance.

You can always buy liability insurance…but, of course, that won’t cover an illegal actions.

    1. I missed Ed’s comment.

  7. @Cargosquid

As I understand it, Cooch’s insurance or pre-paid lawyer service will cover you if there is wrong-doing?

I am surprised he ageed to the daily show interview.

  8. middleman

    Maybe old coochi-coo can also offer legal service coverage to climate scientists (like Mann) ;-}

  9. @middleman
Could be. Mann’s legal services are already being paid for by his sponsors.
    That’s what lawyers do.

  10. AndyH

I never understood why anyone would sit for an interview with TDS…they always make hash out of whomever they interview.

    1. I don’t understand it either. Perhaps they misrepresent themselves. If that is the case, then they are no better than James O’Keefe. Not saying they did misrepresent…just posing that as an explanation.

  11. Rick Bentley

I agree with AndyH, I don’t like the smarmy manipulative and generally vacuous middle segments where they look to make someone look foolish.

    1. But the people they do make look stupid actually have made themselves look stupid. They target people who feel they are right, regardless of facts.

I didn’t think Cuccinelli came across as looking stupid. For the first time in my life, I found him almost likeable. He knows he is conning. Operative word here….almost. He had a certain charm. (Please, just SHOOT me!)

  12. Rick Bentley

And was shocked to see Cuccinelli in the middle of such a segment.
