Eric Young has announced his candidacy for the BOCS seat vacated by former supervisor Wally Covington.  Young is a life-long resident of  Prince William County  and grew up in Nokesville where he currently makes his home .  He will be running as a Democrat.

I am glad to see Mr. Young throw his hat in the ring for this race.  Even though I cannot vote for him, all supervisors influence the county.  There was just something about that other race that wasn’t quite meeting all requirements of my sniff test.

Mr. Young has taken the pledge to take no developer money.  Now there’s a switch.  It isn’t that Young is anti growth or even anti development.  He seems to want decisions based on what is best for the county, rather than who can throw the most money at each supervisor.  Novel concept, eh?

Stay tuned.

14 Thoughts to “Democrat Eric Young running for Brentsville District”

  1. Jackson Bills

“He seems to want decisions based on what is best for the country, rather than who can throw the most money at each supervisor.” – did you mean county?

  2. Yes, although I expect Mr. Young wants whats best for the country also.

  3. Mom

When you check out the back story you will find this doesn’t pass the sniff test either.

    1. What back story?

Not sure how Young can have a back story. There are no other Democrats around to eat their own young. Yes, I am aware that they have that bad habit also.

I used to watch the local Democrats nearly beat each other up in committee meeting some years ago.

I believe I’m reading that he supports the Bi-County Parkway (er…..easy access to Dulles or screw you Independent Hill residents who don’t want to listen to continual tractor trailer noise.)

We live in the 7th largest metropolitain area in the country with a population of over 5.8M. We benefit from greater job security, higher wages and good schools. Development is going to happen. It’s not going to happen in Boone, IA. Spitting into the wind is just that. As pointless as being anti development in an area like this. That’s reality.

Not sure if he is saying he supports the bi county or if someone is putting words in his mouth.

I am surprised you don’t hear tractor trailers now. I am always getting behind them now.

just google his name. You will see the close connections.

    1. What close connections?

      Help me out here.

He needs to be asked directly whether he supports the Bi-County Parkway because this is his statement on “Issues” from the link above.

I am also a believer that providing better access to Dulles Airport will greatly impact Economic Development in Prince William County and provide the gateway for employers to make PWC their home.

So far there’s that pesky little unconnected area near the battlefield in PWC that prevents having most of this road in place.

There are plenty of tractor trailers already on Dumfries Road. There’s nothing quite as entertaining as watching them blast through the red light at Woodbine Shopping Center while doing 65 mph.

    1. I have no problem doing that. Want to ask him for a Starbucks meeting. That’s a fair question.

I think we ought to also be asking where all the cops are on Dumfries Road if the tractor trailers are running lights. I would restrict the damn roads to through traffic and only allow 18 wheelers who had a place to go in PWC. but that’s if I were Queen for a week.

    @Moon-howler
You’re always the Queen in my book, at least as long as you’re buying the next round.
