A special tribute will probably always be held for those who lost their lives at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, a date which will live in infamy. As long as there is a United States, Americans will pause and remember.

Those WWII propaganda films were great. This one certainly didn’t hold back.
This attack ultimately didn’t work out so well for Japan. The end came about by dropping two atomic bombs on the cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Americans will continue to debate the morality of that kind of bombing. What do you think?
Somewhere I read that 23 pairs of brothers lost their lives on the USS Arizona. The Navy band assigned to the Arizona was thrown into the effort to save their comrades and protect their ship. It was reported that all the musicians perished alongside hundreds of their shipmates.
The “Tiger” was awakened with great anger but also with great grief.
I wasn’t even alive when Pearl Harbor happened and I get angry every time I watch the news footage.
I attended the Virginia War Memorial ceremony with my daughter.
She got to see real heroes, including an actual survivor of Pearl Harbor.
There were about 10 WWII vets in attendance, along with vets from other wars.
Is that the one in Newport News? That is a very worthwhile museum.
I remember listening to the newscast on the radio that terrible Sunday morning.
Thanks for posting this. If you ever have a chance to see the U.S.S. Arizona, it is definitely worth a visit. After seeing the Memorial, it is not too hard to imagine what that fateful day must have been like. It was still leaking oil during my visit.
I would love to see the U.S.S. Arizona. I have never been to Hawaii. My husband has seen it, when he was married to the first Mrs. Howler. Ha. Mrs. Howler my ass! There is but one Mrs. Howler.
@Moon-howler
The Memorial is in Richmond.
I was just told that I start an internship there in January.
The USS Arizona Memorial is awe-inspiring and very humbling. Made me think of being in church.
It was interesting to watch the numerous Japanese tourists.
I saw very few smiling tourists.
