You would think that the football issue was a matter of national security.  I got so sick of hearing about balls yesterday that I thought I would put my foot through the TV.  I don’t care!

I cared about basketballs, not footballs.  How about those Wahoos!!!  The Wahoos remain undefeated and are ranked #2 in the nation.  This is our state.  When have we ever been ranked #2 in the nation?  UVA seems determined to get in the news, regardless.  Come on folks, this is exciting!  This is a good thing.

Go Wahoos.

9 Thoughts to “Rules for talking about balls….footballs that is”

Moon, how quickly one forgets, you do remember the Hoos were #1 in football in ’90 just prior to that embarrassing home loss to Georgia Tech and were ranked #1 in hoops several times in the ’80s, a long time ago yes, but it is not unprecedented.

    1. I remember the late 70’s, early 80s basketball. I used to get so worked up during the games when Ralph Sampson and Ricky Stokes were playing that I hid under my coat. That’s been a long time ago.

#1 in football, I honestly don’t remember that. I am sure they found a way to choke and screw that up.

The good news is, the coach is a hottie.

Didn’t BOTH teams play with the same balls?

Or do they only play with their own balls?

I can understand that. I’m particular about letting other people play with my balls too…especially in public.

I mean…. if you let other people handle your balls, they can grab them and run off. You should be careful and let only people that you trust play with your balls. As a child, I watched other kids get their balls grabbed and get taunted.

Only trusted people should be allowed to handle your balls. One sees balls being stolen all the time at the playground. And you have to be careful…getting balls to the face…….can be problematic. I’ve had my balls smashed so hard that I lost them…..for a while. I found them. They were in a bush. They got lost there frequently.

I can understand how Brady doesn’t want anyone touching his balls. He thinks that they are perfect and doesn’t want anyone rubbing them. He wants them to be just the way he likes them when he uses them in public. His public handling of his balls is very important to him and he doesn’t want anyone else to do it. They would just do it wrong and there wouldn’t be a happy ending if someone else was doing so.

I think that a solution is that each team only plays with the other teams balls. If you want to play with proper balls, you have to let the other team play with your balls properly. Only fair. No undersized or oversized balls because then the other team could force you to play with the same.

(My 14 yr daughter just read this after I asked for her comment., looked at me disdainfully, shook her head…and walked out of the room saying, “No comment.”)

    1. Its no less ridiculous than what I have been reading and hearing elsewhere.

      At least we KNOW you.

Awww you can admit it…I’m MUCH funnier that what you’ve read elsewhere……. 😉

    1. Yes you are. I give you full credit.

Cargo, I would like to add that playing with slightly altered balls can be safer and there are those that would much rather play with altered balls. And I have found there are some balls that are simply too old to play with, altered or not.
