If anyone out there in Prince William County land really believes that the fire-house primary scheduled for April 25 is an accident, I have a bridge for sale. Life isn’t that random. The harbingers of hostile-grab have been out there for months. The plans have been in the process of being laid for several years. We have been warned time and time again. I am just not sure who was really listening. Some of us were.
Even if no one was listening, we should have all sat up and taken notice when a GOP candidate was eliminated from his primary because he filed his paperwork late. Now what is the likelihood of 2 different late filings disqualifying people within the same two months in the same county? I am just not buying it. Essence of rat comes wafting in once again.
Look no further than the Gainesville Cartel. Let’s face it, the contenders for supervisor wouldn’t have a ghost of a chance in a general primary. The Gainesville Cartel has been recruiting and building its contenders over the past year or so. It starts with tearing down others and building up little-known people into something they are not. Recruitment has been heavy handed at times. The tearing down and destroying has been going on for quite some time. Just follow the internet ink.
The ultimate goal is to party-bust and rid the local party of all Republicans who might be not only too moderate but also might not be under the influence as those who would see themselves as king makers. Yes, there is some definite royal ego involved in all this political chicanery.
It’s very safe to say that voters will not be getting an independent thinker if any of the supervisor contenders are elected on April 25. The puppetmaster will be ever-present, not far behind the candidate contenders, speaking in their ear. Should the contenders win the fire house primary, it will almost surely end up a sweep for Democrats. That’s just what happens when those with tea-party mentality try to take over a county. Prince William would become a former image of itself, with even more drastically reduced services and a leaner educational system.
I can hear the Democrats doing the heavy breathing thing, smacking their lips and salivating over the thoughts of their win. If the supervisor-contenders pull this off, and they very well might, because of the nature of fire house primaries, then they will face a general election where all bets are off. The Democrats see the shady business going on with the bat-snot crazy side of the local GOP and are sitting back chuckling, waiting for the fall-out to settle. They won’t even have to soften the Republicans up after the hostile take over. The local GOP will have already handled that end of things. This election is ripe for the picking by lucky Democrats.
Meanwhile, I understand that concerned citizens have contacted the DOJ over election ….errrr…irregularities. They should. Something is rotten in Prince William County.
I am going to stick my toe in the water here and hope I don’t get it bitten off. I hear people are afraid to speak out on this subject. There are some mean politics out there.
The moonhowlers are right though. What are the chances of this happening. It all looks like it has been orchestrated like a swim team.
Now, that’s an investigation that should stick.
But you might be right. EW Jacson failed miserably and that didn’t help Cuchinelli at all.
What’s shocking is this hasn’t gotten more attention already. It all began last year when the candidates for the Brentsville nomination were abruptly narrowed down to one when a candidate not favored by the Gainesville Cartel was shut out of the firehouse primary under dubious circumstances. Subsequently the “me too” candidate was nominated and won in a “general” election held 2 days before Christmas with a tiny fraction of the electorate turning out. Now the puppet master has 2 electeds beholden’ to him. Subsequently the Prince of Gainesville surprises everyone by announcing he will not run for Chair. Instead he will run for re-election in the Gainesville District and actively seek to build a “5 vote coalition”. At this point the coalition stands at 2. Then, as if by magic, an “honest mistake” happens which prevents the EXACT candidates targeted by the puppet master from having the general primary they are entitled to and forces them into a “firehouse” primary designed to favor “fringe” candidates. (And if you believe the “honest mistake” spiel I’ve got a bridge to sell you in Gainesville). Lo and behold, the Gainesville Cartel just happens to have 2 such candidates (for Coles District and the Chairmanship) ready to go. They try and fail to recruit a 3rd in the Potomac District – but still have hope that one of the puppets in either Woodbridge or Occoquan will come away with a victory. Moon – you are right in that the likely outcome, should the Cartel prevail in the firehouse primaries, will be a majority Democratic board after the general election. But pay attention boys and girls — the puppet master does NOT play fair! If DOJ is involved, I hope they work quickly!
Welcome. Wombat. You have made some very interesting observations.
DOJ seems to come running when someone from PWC calls. Remember the boundaries for one of the new high schools—they are even more interested in elections.
Thanks for your contribution. I hope you will come back as a regular.
This is the only place I keep reading this….and I wonder why? The insiders I talk to keep telling me that this was all an honest mistake but I think they’re just trying to make nice in public.
Frequency, just thinking about the probability of all this happening just makes me smell a rat. Somewhere someone knows something. This has all been set up for the past few years also. (taking a step back) We had lots of warning that this was coming.
There is much greater leadership in the City than Ian. He is a neophyte. He also has his “handler.”
Do all tea party types have handlers, just out of curiosity?
Ah, hit submit by accident. Anyway, I keep hearing that this was all just a big mess up but I have trouble believing it. In fact, I wonder who all is involved because I also hear that Jackson Miller is pushing buttons to get Ian elected as the next mayor of Manassas. I don’t mind Ian but there are several folks who are demonstrated leaders who would be better choices over the next several years.
Seem to me there’s a larger theme here.
More tea party mentality. I think Republicans need to look at who are calling themselves Republicans. Interesting how people throw out the word “RINO” all the time with great distain and then don’t even flinch at some of the tea party types. Is that really what the Republican party has become?
My granddaughter was horrified when I suggested that she vote in the fire house primary. She acted like I had thrown a snake on her.
Im not so sure it really is fraud as much as it is the local party being extremely unorganized. The extremists have taken over that committee. These are the same folks as, as moon mentioned, that are “buil(t) up little-known people into something they are not”. Speaking again about the Brentsville election last year. You know who made the final determination on Jacob’s eligibility? Two out of the three people on the committee were Lawson’s donors. Guess what happens if he pushed to appeal since Card did not advertise the call correctly? 1st district republican committee where Lawson has served for years. They would have to vote to give her an opponent. Give me a break…
As for the rest of the article 100% agree. Candland is seeking to build a 5 vote coalition but it is something he will never accomplish.
Thanks for your input, Greg. I did not know that about the Brentsville Committee. The GOP committee needs to get its act together before it pulls a full DOJ investigation. Actually, I would support that happening. Something just is not right.
I hope more people will comment. There is much I do not know. I have been told by some that they are afraid to comment. My comments are protected from exposure, just so everyone knows.
I watched a part of the Nohe/O/Meara “debate” the other day and O’Meara almost immediately gave it away that he was a pat of the Candland Cabal when he mentioned Candland’s 1.3% budget. I’m disappointed that no Democrat is running in the Cole’s District but there Democratic candidates that have been put up in the past have not been much and I find it hard to believe there aren’t any better ones. Today’s BOCS meeting should be interesting-I expect Candland to come out with guns blazing based on some information I saw at a PWC Committee of 100 meeting.
He wouldn’t miss an opportunity to come out shrill and strident and echoing his master’s voice.
To think that his secret blog laughed at Marty always having something to say. Let’s start adding up the words and start laughing. My guess is Pete utters 3 times more than Marty in a given session.
Pete is a sore loser. Once a vote is taken, he keeps beating that dead horse.
Pete Candland’s pander to a person who uses an attack blog to try to accomplish change is the worse kind of representation. The fact the attack blog is trying to gain even more traction than just two votes by stacking the board is despicable. I believe there are many, on both sides of the aisle, who have had enough and are gunning for Pete and the blog. At least that’s what I hear and only time will tell.
Prince William County is about to be taken over by a bunch of right wing extreme radical Christian Conservatives interested in who we love, who we marry, what we do behind closed doors, woman’s rights hating, gun loving, tax hating Republicans.
Doesn’t look like there is much Democrats, moderates, or centrist Republicans can do about it. We can expect some radical stuff if Candland gets five votes.
If you don’t like it, suck it up and vote in the April 25th Firehouse Primary. Look the folks working in polls in the eye and ask, “What are you going to do about it!” Considering all of the shady stuff the Republican Party has been up to, they won’t want to be in the press for voter suppression (one of their strong suits).
Don’t let these bastards take over our County! Be a Republican for a day and VOTE! You can go home and shower to get the stink off later.
Sorry, Guap, old chap; but you are very mistaken. That stink cannnot be washed off. It is permanent Democrat liberal, not Repub. Not even lye soap works on it.
But I suspect that you are just a nice sweetie underneath it all.
The Tea Party is coming!!! Run, run!! Sauve qui peut!!!
Oh,my.
Oh boy.
Well, it sure does look like a panic here among the non-Republicans. Somebody in the PWC Republican ranks (whomever it is) seems to be making their election move, and the other side appears to be going all wobbly with apprehension. I mean, it’s politics. Been happening for several centuries around the USA.
Maybe it’s an aftershock from November 2014?
There were 2 sets of filing irregularities that make this situation not on the up and up. The incumbants weren’t permitted their primary.
Not really. Many Republicans here and in my house are not happy with the shenanigans and apparent underhanded tactics. Honestly Wolve, do you think ALL Republicans are above reproach, automatically? Do you look at the person or just at the letter after their name?
I think you like to provoke…. 🙂
No, Lyssa, I would like personally (but only figuratively, mind you) to kick the asses of Boehner and McConnell, just to point out two of many Repubs on my “ahem” list; but, seeing as how I am not affiliated with their party, I guess that makes me ineligible to go beyond reproachful words on the blogs. Quite frankly, it does seem to me that so-called RINO’s or Establishment Republicans, if you will, have let integrity go by the wayside and lie like thieves to the voters when seeking electoral victory. It is getting harder to tell the difference between them and the liberal Dems, IMO.
How does that strike ya from the perspective of “automatically”? Or maybe one of my favorites of late? “Just say no to Jeb.”
Provoke? Me? I am just responding to the untoward trash talk which crops up here whenever conservatives become the target. This “place for civil debate” sometimes sounds like an NBA game.
Ah! Another of my favorite types. The “conservative” who sits on the side lines and throws rocks at the republicans because there’s purity in all things “conservative”.
At some point – and I’m forthright in this – I hope it will occur to the “conservatives” sitting in their self-imposed exile that getting involved might, just might, produce more meaningful results than posting on a blog….it would be hard to be less effective in any event.
I await the “we’ve tried but didn’t get our way” refrain….
What I am “afraid” of is not whether the board ends up being predominantly one party or another. Already we have two seats that are controlled not by the persons who voters elected but by a behind the scenes puppetmaster – whose objective is to ultimately control 5 seats. I don’t like the idea that the person my district voted for is not the person actually doing the governing. And I really don’t like the idea that multiple districts could all be controlled by one anonymous person who has already demonstrated a willingness to go as low as he has to in order to destroy whoever is in his way. That sounds to me less like a local government and more like a mafia.
