New York Times:

Megyn Kelly, who arrived at Fox News 12 years ago as a television news neophyte but rose to become one of its two biggest stars, has decided to leave the network to take on a broad new role at NBC News for an undisclosed amount, people briefed on the negotiations said on Tuesday.

The NBC News chairman, Andrew Lack, wooed Ms. Kelly away from Fox News by offering her a triple role in which she will host her own daytime news and discussion program, anchor an in-depth Sunday night news show and take regular part in the network’s special political programming and other big-event coverage.

The move will herald a seismic shift in the cable news landscape, where Ms. Kelly had become the second-most watched host — after Bill O’Reilly of Fox News — and often helped define the national political debate, especially over the last year as Donald J. Trump regularly attacked her, at times in viciously personal terms.

Ms. Kelly’s departure would upend Fox News’s vaunted prime-time lineup and inject a new dose of tumult just a few months after the departure of the network’s powerful founding chairman, Roger Ailes, who was ousted after several women made allegations that he sexually harassed them.

Good for Megyn Kelly.  She has a brain and was wasting it on the T & A show over at Fox News.   I hope she sends Donald Trump a fruit basket thanking him for her liberation.  She did an excellent job during that first debate where Donald Trump showed his true misogynistic colors by attacking Megyn.  She acquired a great deal of support from that incident.

23 Thoughts to “Megyn Kelly lured away from Faux News by NBC”

    I agree Moon, good for Megyn Kelly. Hopefully she will bring a little credibility to the laughable ‘news’ side of the house at NBC. This is the same fake news organization that was led and run by lyin Brian Williams. Talk about faux news, doesn’t get much more faux than NBC and Brian ‘hit by RPGs’ Williams.

    1. JD, it gets a lot more Faux and NBC. Apparently you have watched Faux News so long you just can’t discern bull shit from brownies.

      1. I make a pan of wicked brownies!

  2. Greta Van Susteren lured over to MSNBC. “For the Record” premiers Monday on MSNBC.

    Exciting times. Rachel Maddow introduced her tonight.

    and Tucker will take over her time slot at Fox. Sad when he is the best that Fox can put into her time slot. Megan will likely do well at NBC.

  4. I am glad to see talented women leave Faux news. That station sold them sort. It really was a not very disguised T & A show with the women nodding, quoting the party line and looking like dumb asses.

    Gretchen Carlson was the valedictorian of her high school class and she graduated from Stanford. I used to wonder what happened to her brain between then and now.

    Tucker will fall flat on his face except with angry old men.

      “It really was a not very disguised T & A show with the women nodding, quoting the party line and looking like dumb asses”

      Why do non-conservative women hate conservative women so much? I can understand not agreeing with someone but the pure hatred, name calling and belittling is odd to me.

      1. I assume you can read. Perhaps it is more accurate to say that I hate the behavior of some conservative women.
        Actually Gretchen Carlson is a very smart women who allowed people like Steve Doocey to make her look like a dumb ass. That’s the game she had to play to keep her job. Megyn Kelly and Greta both have brains also. At some point, enough was enough.

        Cleavage and crossed legs. Let me ask you something, since I let your comment through today….do you see that happening on any other cable news show? The answer is no. Neither CNN or MSNBC rely on T & A to draw them in and keep them.

        Let me ask you another question–have you ever been in a room with men who had Fox News on? Did you notice the knuckle-dragging?

        The fact that you would even ask such a stupid question speaks to why all your comments have to be approved. You come here to troll and goad.

        My pure hatred is far more vicious than what you just saw.

      @MoonHowler

      I would disagree with you that Tucker will fall flat on his face. I’ve seen parts of one or two of his shows and he isn’t that bad. I don’t think that he will ever get the ratings that Megan got but I don’t think he will be a failure.

      Do you know what time slot Megan’s new show will be in? I thought that I read something about her show being a daytime show on NBC. If that is the case it may not bode well for her because I don’t think that her show transitions well into a daytime format.

        @Jerome Doublas

        A turnip could get ratings if it had a lead-in from O’Reilly.

      2. Glad to see you are alive and well.

      3. The Kelly files used to be during the day. I don’t know when she show will air. She is still under contract with Fox from what I understand so start time is iffy.

        Greta will start at 6 pm on Monday night.

        Women can be both attractive and smart. Everyone under the sun knows the Fox News paradigm. Its about the look and the party line.
        Have you read Megyn Kelly’s book? Did you see Gretchen Carlson’s interview? Greta isn’t a glamor girl and she is in her early 60’s. She doesn’t fit the model. That’s not to say that Jabba the Ailes didn’t bother her also.

      4. Tucker has been a jerk for the past several decades. Do you think he will draw in the chicks? I have never heard any woman say she can stand him. Otherwise, what’s left if no women—-angry men.

        Would you describe yourself as an angry man?

      5. Jerome Doublas

        @MoonHowler

        I don’t have time to be an angry man 🙂
        I’m not a regular viewer of his show, I’ve only seen a few minutes here-and-there and some of that has been here on this site (his interview with the alt-left guy that claims he got seizures or something from a tweet).
        From what I have seen he is a bit snarky with the people he interviews but I like that on both sides (to a point). Taking someone to task isn’t necessarily being a jerk.

      6. When I have seen him over the years he has been snarky and misogynistic. He doesn’t tend to piss off men like he does women.
        Remember when he used to wear bow ties?

        I also think that people who watch Faux News a lot tend to be angry. If they aren’t when they start, they soon get that way. That’s why I no longer watch it. Even knowing that they were double spinning stuff, I still found myself doing the foul mood thing.

      7. Ms. Kelly, the network’s No. 2 anchor behind Bill O’Reilly, announced that she would be leaving Fox for NBC News, where she planned to host a daytime news show and Sunday newsmagazine.

        (from the NYTimes)

      8. I don’t think Tucker will attract females. Too sexist!

      9. Jerome Doublas

        @MoonHowler

        I can’t recall him being overtly sexist in anything that I’ve seen him do. However, as I’ve stated before I’ve not watched him that much. If you could provide examples of him being too sexist for women to watch his show I would take that into consideration.

        @MoonHowler

        I don’t know why, but Tucker always
        brings out my maternal feelings.
        His eyes like a deer’s in headlights maybe?

        And, of course, I just can’t forget his
        “Dancing with the Stars” stint. Cute! 🙂

      11. He makes me want to punch him in the face.

    Q: Cleavage and crossed legs. Let me ask you something, since I let your comment through today….do you see that happening on any other cable news show?

    A: Not sure I’ve looked for ‘cleavage and crossed legs’ on any cable news show to be honest. Does Fox News have attractive women on air? I suppose they do, not sure that makes them all “dumb asses”. Let me ask you a question if I may… can you provide any examples of what you’re talking about? Can you name any of them?

    Q: Let me ask you another question–have you ever been in a room with men who had Fox News on? Did you notice the knuckle-dragging?

    A: Yes, I have been in a room with men (and women) who had Fox News on. Did not see any knuckle-dragging. Most of the times that I do watch Fox News I’m generally the ONLY guy in the room.
