The adults certainly haven’t been able to do anything about the epidemic of gun violence has become rampant. Perhaps the kids who will soon be voting can make change happen.
My 12 year old granddaughter asked me to take her to this event. Kids do care.
Massive crowds in DC. Like many rallies, the signs were great as was the spirit of everyone there.
Thanks for the report, Ivan!!
It sounds like the NRA has gone to war against kids, just listening to some of their responses.
Typical–belittle and be dismissive.
I am betting on the kids. Compulsory attendance to get shot. First cousin to get drafted but not vote. All sorts of change resulted from that situation.
It’s unfortunate that this movement has been hijacked from these kids. The march in DC had very few ‘kids’ in attendance.
90% were adults, average age 49 while less than 10% were under the age of 18. I’m all for hearing these kids out but are they completely immune to criticism?
It seems to me that kids from Parkland who are on the pro-2nd amendment side of the argument are either silenced or have adults ‘going to war against’ them all of the time. The difference is nobody seems to be sticking up for them or going after the adult bully’s advertisers. Why is that?
Some really hideous things have been said about them. I am not going to list examples. I don’t necessarily think it is a bad thing that lots of adults were present. What difference does it make who all was there?
I don’t know where your demographics came from, nor do I know how they were gathered. If you have ever been to one of those major demonstrations, they are way too huge to get an accurate reading on who all was there.
Richard Hertz,
How did they compute the average age of half a million people?
