Strange. Senator Brown certainly doesn’t seem to be all that conservative to me.
I feel like many I have seen in this movement are bullies. I got that feeling watching the town hall meetings on TV and on the internet. I can’t believe that every thing I watched just showed the bad side. I can’t believe that every rally I saw only showed the bad side.
I honestly think people aren’t really sure what they want. Senator Brown is more like a person I might vote for than someone Sarah Palin might vote for.
Part 2 of Rise of the New Right addresses the common theme of dislike of President Barack Obama. The ‘birthers’ are explored. The video is about 7 minutes.

One often hears that the ‘new right’ includes people who voted for Barack Obama and have become disenchanged and want to take their vote back. Is that true? I only know of one person who said that and that person is something of a political schizophrenic.
Have people always called a sitting president a communist, a socialist? I find that so horribly disrespectful.
What motivates deep hatred of any president? When does this kind of hate become unhealthy?
This hour long video was on MSNBC tonight. It is well documented.
Each segment will be featured on this blog. Part 1 is about 9 minutes.
I find it upsetting. Many who post here will not.

Every time one thinks things just can’t get more outrageous, Sarah Palin opens her mouth. She now blames environmentalists for the BP oil spill. According to her own facebook comments:
With [environmentalists’] nonsensical efforts to lock up safer drilling areas, all you’re doing is outsourcing energy development, which makes us more controlled by foreign countries, less safe, and less prosperous on a dirtier planet. Your hypocrisy is showing. You’re not preventing environmental hazards; you’re outsourcing them and making drilling more dangerous.
Extreme deep water drilling is not the preferred choice to meet our country’s energy needs, but your protests and lawsuits and lies about onshore and shallow water drilling have locked up safer areas. It’s catching up with you. The tragic, unprecedented deep water Gulf oil spill proves.
We don’t need the blame game. We need to get that gusher stopped and start the clean up. Does Sarah Palin thrive on discord and animosity? Does she want Americans to hate each other? Her behavior indicates that the answer to that question is yes. Shame on Sarah Palin, again.
AG Ken Cuccinelli loves to file law suits and briefs. He has several lawsuits against our country. Please someone tell me why he didn’t jump on the band wagon against the funeral protesters, Westboro Baptist Church, 48 states filed an amicus brief. 2 states did not: Virginia and Maine. WHAT? If there was ever a reason to file an amicus brief, WBC is it!
According to Huffington Post:
WASHINGTON — Forty-eight states and the District of Columbia have submitted a brief to the Supreme Court in support of a father who sued anti-gay protesters over their demonstration at the 2006 funeral of his son, a Marine killed in Iraq.
Only Virginia and Maine declined to sign the brief by the Kansas attorney general.
Albert Snyder sued over protests by the Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church at his son’s funeral in Maryland. The church pickets funerals because they believe war deaths are punishment for U.S. tolerance of homosexuality.
The Supreme Court has agreed to consider whether the protesters’ message is protected by the First Amendment.
In the brief filed Tuesday, the states argued they have a compelling interest in protecting the sanctity of funerals.
Mr. Snyder now owes WBC over $16,ooo because of a counter lawsuit. Americans are outraged that the father of a fallen hero would ever have to pay this horrible group a penny. Where is Virginia? Once again, Ken Cuccinelli shames us all. However, he now as one ally, according the the Richmond Times Dispatch–the ACLU.
Cuccinelli’s office announced that it is not joining 48 other states in filing a supporting legal brief on behalf of Albert Snyder, the father of a soldier killed in Iraq whose funeral in Maryland was picketed by Westboro Baptist Church of Kansas, a hate group.
Among other things, the church pickets funerals of American soldiers, claiming God has killed them for defending a nation of “sodomite hypocrites.”
Snyder is suing Westboro and its pastor, the Rev. Fred W. Phelps, for what he alleges was a disruption of the funeral for his son, Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder, who was killed in Iraq in 2006. Church members have become nationally known for heckling at military funerals and hoisting signs that berate mourners with slogans such as “You’re in hell” and “God hates you.”
After Snyder won a $5 million verdict in district court, an appeals court reversed the decision, saying the Westboro protestors were exercising their First Amendment right to free speech. The case is now moving to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Yesterday was the deadline for filing a “friend of the court” brief in support of Snyder’s case. Every state but Maine and Virginia lined up behind Snyder.
“The attorney general’s office deplores the absolutely vile and despicable acts of Fred Phelps and his followers,” spokesman Brian Gottstein said in a statement. “We also greatly sympathize with the Snyder family and all families who have experienced the hatefulness of these people.”
The statement said Cuccinelli’s office chose not to file a brief “because the case could set a precedent that could severely curtail certain valid exercises of free speech.”
Gottstein said Virginia has a law that balances free-speech rights but also protects people like the Snyder family by making it a crime to “willfully disrupt a funeral or memorial service to the point of preventing or interfering with the orderly conduct of the event.”
Albert Snyder said Cuccinelli will pay a price politically for not joining other attorneys general.
But the attorney general found an ally on the First Amendment issue from a frequent critic — the Virginia chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union.
“We completely agree with the attorney general,” said ACLU Executive Director Kent Willis, who called the issue a “fundamental gut check” of the First Amendment.
“This kind of deplorable free speech must be protected in order to make sure all speech is protected.”
The speech of WBC far exceeds any speech deemed tolerable by a civilized society. Their speech should be treated like yelling fire in a crowded theater or using the F word during prime time TV. The behavior of Westboro Baptist Church (sic) is totally unacceptable to conservatives, liberals, and moderates. What is Cuccinelli thinking? He should pay the political price, as father Albert Snyder states. Who ever thought the Cooch would be cozied up with the ACLU? I suppose politics makes real strange bedfellows in this case. Or…perhaps the Cooch agrees with WBC.
Does this offend anyone else? Does Cuccinelli think he is still running for office?
Does this behavior seem unseemly for a sitting attorney general?
Challenging ‘Obamacare?’ I guess the good AG won’t mind if I call him ‘Moochinelli?’
I am glad he is saving the American people if they send money. It just sounds like a cheap campaign stunt to me.

Rachel Maddow takes a look at founder John Taunton and the organization FAIR. John Taunton still sits on the board of FAIR. Maddow interviews a rather hostile Stein who is the president of FAIR.

Dan Stein is most defensive about some of the views associated with FAIR.
U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva closed his offices in Yuma and Tucson at noon on Friday because of the threatening phone calls. The Congressman says he opposed the legislation that has just been signed into law by Governor Brewer. He specifically says he opposes making it a crime under state law to be in the country illegally.
The Arizona Daily Star reports that Grijalva spokesman Adam Sarvana released a statement Friday saying that the congressman’s office received “some pretty scary calls,” including one from a man “who threatened to go down there and blow everyone’s brains out then go to the border to shoot Mexicans.”
According to the Daily Star:
Grijalva staffer Ruben Reyes said the office has been flooded with calls all week about Senate Bill 1070. About 25 percent are “very racist” in nature, Reyes said, characterizing some as “telling that tortilla-eating wetback to go back to Mexico.”
Has it really come to this? PWC sure dodged the bullet if this is the case. Again, there are just other ways to handle problems. I saw people out throwing stuff, not sure what at cops on TV. People doing that might want to do a little reseach about Kent State….it really isn’t a smart thing to do. I love Arizona. I would not go there now. The Grand Canyon State will have to be grand without me.
We are but one of 50 states but it seems we are getting more than our fair share of negative attention.
The AG seems to feel upstaged by his partner in crime, the honorable Mr. Stewart. He wants to rein in the federal government. He tells the crowd: “There’s no hide the ball with Ken Cuccinelli. What you see is what you get.”
And now for some more fun…..
Holy cow. Why would someone fight health care and then take part in this kind of scene. What century do we live in. I guess what people do on their private time is their business but not when they are representing MY state. I hope the AG is going to the Awakening and Revival as a private citizen. Cindy Jacobs seems to be overly excited as does Lou Engles as he prays for whatever it is he wants? Overthrowing the government? How many people think this is appropriate behaivor?
The fact that at least 9 minutes of an 11 minute segment was about Virginia simply shames me. There is just too much negative publicity. Too much cultural warrior being presented as mainstream. Thank goodness the subject changes to Michigan.

Who is Lou Engle?
The other day someone challenged me about Rachel Maddow being mainstream. Hell, she was just in Parade Magazine. Today Parade, tomorrow, Readers Digest. If Koo…err Cooch is your mainstream, then Maddow much be the rest of the world’s Oprah Winfrey.
Remember our article from the March 3, 2010 melee after the Maryland / Duke game? Kids went wild, set fire to trash cans and in general celebrated way too much? Some UMD Students Need to Grow Up showed students too happy over their win over Duke. Some footage also discovered what appears to be some serious police brutality on the part of Prince George’s County Police. At least 2 students had the living hell beaten out of them with night sticks, fists and it appears the one was rammed with the horse.
I generally don’t holler brutality. However, PG County has long had a reputation from not running with the straight and narrow. Judging from this video, is sure looks like PG County has a few rotten apples:
What do you think?
Here is the line up of the Christian Militia group. These people are misfits. Just looking into their eyes–something isn’t right. Were these people so isolated from the rest of the population that they turned to violence. Help me understand what possessed the Hutaree to want to kill police officers and start an uprising against the government.
Hutaree supposedly means Christian Warrior, according to a spokesperson for the group. No one else claims to have heard of the term. These are scary looking people. They supposedly want to fight the Anti-Christ. They also want court appointed lawyers. Hypocrites.
The John McCain Rally
I have a several problems with this. The young man was rude. He was on McCain’s turf. It was a McCain rally. He disrupted. No excuse. Then there is this thing about 2 wrongs not making a right. I saw a swing taken. I saw 2 people hauling the perp away. However, were these 2 dudes security? If yes, how am I supposed to know that? When John McCain came to PWC, our PWC police were there, in uniform, being paid overtime by us, the people of PWC. Had there been a heckler, he or she would have been taken out professionally by PWC’s finest. You and I paid for it here. John McCain needs to pay for it with his campaign funds rather than it looking like a bunch of bubbas hauled the guy away.
Elizabeth Hasselbeck agrees with the rest of The View:
\
Elizabeth Hasselbeck says targets and cross hairs on Palin’s website are dispictable. She speaks out against Palin using poor judgement and about the violence surrounding the passage of the Health Care Bill. All the women seemed to be in agreement.
Idiot thrown out of the McCain/Palin Rally
Click here to see a howling idiot. The video kept startling up with a life of its own so I took it down.
Check out the second video labeled UPDATE: Scuffle
Another protester is throw out of the McCain/Palin Rally. This guy is not playing with both oars in the water, it appears. If this guy is at the same rally, the video shows that there were uniformed officers. Whoever hauled the man away in the first video might not have been authorized. Not a smart move.
And as the grand finale: The Spitting Incident last Sunday
Unfortunately, I cannot imbed the video. Click here for the LINK. Follow the guy in the white baseball cap. You might need to watch several times. The dude is not manning up to what he did. He clearly knows what happened from his gestures.
Sean Hannity asks for proof. Well, people will see what they want to see. To me, these video show that jerks and idiots come in all political flavors.
I came upon this movie, Constantines Sword, quite by accident, while uploading movies to watch instantly on the T.V. I was profoundly fascinated, not just by the storyteller and his narrative, but the journey of Christianity and its intersection with Judaism, throughout history. For me, the movie was truly moving, in a very personal sense. When it was over, I wondered, how is it possible that the Jewish religion has survived? What dedication must it have taken to continue the traditions under such heavy persecution.
In the end, I came away feeling even more strongly that religion is more often than not, misused and abused. That the most important message, from almost all religions, “love they neighbor as thyself” too often becomes, well, completely forgotten.
One fact that was truly an eye opener was the use of the cross. Now, as a Jewish person, not knowing much about Christianity, I just always assumed it was because Christ was crucified on the cross. Could it be true, that Constantine had this vision when looking up into the blue sky, 300 years after Jesus’s death, of a cross in the sky, a vison he would replicate by crossing his swords? Once he conquered his enemies, believing Christ had been the reason he had vanquished his enemy, the symbol of the cross would now be used to represent all Christians.
I look forward to the discussion!!!
Henry Gasparian must have reached his boiling point. He got into a shoving match with LaRouche supporters who had the infamous idiot pictures of President Obama sporting a Hitler mustache.
Mr. Gasparian, an Armenian, has family who were killed or maimed by Hitler. He doesn’t feel someone so evil should be used for political gain, so he attempted to take the papers. People need to think about other’s feelings when hurling around careless rhetoric.
According to the Seattle Times:
As a child in Armenia, Henry Gasparian witnessed firsthand the horrors of Nazi Germany. Two uncles were killed, his father wounded and a brother starved to death during the German invasion and occupation of the Soviet Union. So when Gasparian, 70, of Edmonds, saw a poster of President Obama with a Hitler mustache near the entrance to the Edmonds Farmers Market on Sept. 5, he admits that his reaction was “personal and emotional.””>Seattle Times:

He tried to grab the fliers being passed out by supporters of Lyndon LaRouche, a perennial presidential candidate who has likened Obama’s health-care proposals to the Nazi extermination of Jews and other “undesirables.”
Two young LaRouche supporters told police that Gasparian repeatedly pushed them and grabbed one of their arms. Gasparian said it was they who first pushed him.
Now Gasparian is charged with two counts of fourth-degree assault in Edmonds Municipal Court for what he describes as an attempt by “an old man to say you cannot insult the president with this outrageous campaign.”
