Here’s to a Good Education…from another perspective

Life would not be complete without good friends to send me jokes.

Here’s wishing all the kids a great first day, regardless of their parentage.

The poor principal in the following video is between a rock and a hard place. Perhaps he needs to find a job in a different place. The tinfoil hats are looming in the background. More Indoctrinators…

Glenn Beck’s Advertisers Bolt

Huffingtonpost.com

Walmart, Best Buy, CVS, and GMAC are among eight major advertisers that have confirmed pulling their advertising from Fox News’ “Glenn Beck” program in light of his comments that President Obama is a racist.

The advertisers did not pull their spots from Fox News, but rather requested that their ads do not air during Beck’s 5PM program.

We have talked about Glenn Beck here on Anti and about disinformation/misinformation. We have certainly had many discussions here about racism, racists, and what makes one a racist. Should there be a price for calling the president a racist?

Apparently, the group behind the letter writing campaign is colorofchange.org. How does this differ from Christian groups conducting letter writing campaigns against things they don’t like?

Of course, Steven Colbert just couldn’t leave poor Glenn alone and comes to his ‘defense.’

He’s Barack Obama

According to Channel 4 news:

President Barack Obama made his debut at Friday night’s Radio and Television Correspondents’ Association dinner in more ways than one.

Apparently the President got in a few jabs and zingers of his own on Friday night.

I suppose in this job, it is good to have thick skin. Is this more flattering or insulting than the previous presidential jib-jabs?

Finally, It’s Over!

David Letterman has fully apologized to Sarah Palin and her daughters.  For the past several days, the country has been consumed with the ‘knocked up by A-Rod’ bad Letterman joke.  Did Sarah Palin fail to notice the snipes and tasteless jokes last fall?  Why is she so outraged now?  The jokes really weren’t any less crude and Letterman was hardly the most frequent offender.

At any rate, here it is–the long awaited Letterman apology:

“I told a joke that was beyond flawed, and my intent is completely meaningless compared to the perception,” he said. “And since it was a joke I told, I feel that I need to do the right thing here and apologize for having told that joke. It’s not your fault that it was misunderstood, it’s my fault. . . . So I would like to apologize, especially to the two daughters involved, Bristol and Willow, and also to the governor and her family and everybody else who was outraged by the joke.”

I suppose for the next few days the cable news shows and others who have been getting so much press off of this bad joke can now analyze the apology.  One has to question why, after all the jokes of questionable taste, did Sarah Palin chose now to protest?

According to the Washington Post:

Through mid-March, Leno had made 15 jokes about the Palin daughter’s pregnancy, Stewart had told four on “The Daily Show,” and Letterman checked in with eight, according to an analysis of late-night humor by the Center for Media and Public Affairs, a nonpartisan research organization affiliated with George Mason University.

Perhaps there is more to this than just a mother bear defending her cubs.  What do contributors think.

Beware of Stuttering Eagles

I just couldn’t be the only person to not have a Thanksgiving themed message today. Ok, el Diablo made me do it. I couldn’t resist. Let’s just say there’s a little something for everyone here. So in keeping with that issue which has brought many of us together……here we go.

I think the eagles have to lay off the bud lights though. That’s what started the entire problem. My apologies to England.

Have a great Thanksgiving, everyone.
